Pumpkin chocolate chip brownies

I went to dinner with some friends this past weekend and desserts came up in conversation, always something I enjoy talking about. I heard pumpkin (yum)...chocolate chips (yum)...and brownies together and couldn't wait to get home and try out a recipe. I found this online and made a few changes to personalize...they came out delicious, I will be bringing them to my families Thanksgiving this year for sure.

Pictures will come soon, I took some after baking but haven't had a chance to upload them.

2 cups all-purpose flour (sifted)
1 1/4 tbsp pumpkin-pie spice
1 tsp baking soda
3/4 tsp salt
1 cup unsalted butter @ room temp
1 1/4 cup sugar
1 large egg
2 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup canned pumpkin puree
12 oz dark chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 350
Line bottom & sides of  9x13 pan with aluminum foil allowing it to hang over sides a little

Combine flour, pumpkin-pie spice, baking soda, and salt in a medium sized bowl

Using an electric mixer cream butter & sugar (medium/high speed) until smooth and combined. Add egg and vanilla, beat again until combined. Add pumpkin puree (low/medium speed). Mix in dry ingredients until combined, do not over beat. Add chocolate chips.

Spread batter into pan, bake 35-40 min. Check with toothpick before removing from oven, allow to cool completely in pan before slicing. Cut while in pan, lift foil and remove from pan. Run knife under brownies to separate from foil...ENJOY!!

I made them earlier today (I've had 4 so far), they were still partially warm when I took my first bite...heaven. The chocolate and pumpkin go so well together, I find them lighter than a regular chocolate brownie and I'm a HUGE chocolate fan, which will be reflected in the posted recipes. Enjoy with a cup of tea of scoop of vanilla bean ice cream!!

The beginning...

Welcome!! I'm new to this so be patient...excellence will come with time & experience.
